Engine Break In Time???

Is there such a thing as a break in time for these cars? I am going out of state this week, but I don't want to drive my new car if it will hurt the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Engine Break In Time???

You aren't supposed to rev the engine really hard or brake really hard for the first 3000 miles. Use a mineral based oil for the first 2 oil changes or 10000 miles then you can go to a synthetic oil. I suggest Amsoil it's by far the best synthetic on the market.
