Ah. Factory Nav systems can be a pain. Some, depending on make/model won't even let you access the screen while the vehicle is in motion! I picked up a Garmin Nuvi 360 ($480) that I interchange between my vehicles when I go on a road trip because I refuse to pay the money for an in car one. One of my uncles bought a Chrsyler 300C recently with the factory nav system ($3K with uprated stereo!), and he said it took him over two hours to learn the features on it, and about 15min to program in a destination. Not too bad I suppose. I can plug in my Garmin, plot my destination, and stick it to the window in under five minutes. The only downside is wires running around and you lose some visibility with it on the window.
My nav system, Audiophile system works very well while driving if you know what the verbal commands are. That's part of the learning process I was talking about. I've already learned how to switch from the satellite radio to the CD or any of the am/fm programs. This is going to be a real challenge but fun.
A neighbour of mine bought a Lexus LS460 with the nav package. His only quibble is that the nav system won't allow you to change your directions while in motion. Theres no nav system on the market that's 100% up to date and accurate which is a peeve of mine. I always get a good laugh when I see someone driving alone, and talking! At least the tinted windows help! ha
I added my address into the nav system and the map position indicator is 1 block away from where I actually live. I wonder if that will ever be corrected.
I had a Fusion and I had to trade in with another car after 2 years.
Getting a Fusion you need to think about it twice b4 you go out there to get one. Your decision will marry with you in a period of time.
There is a few problems with the Fusion. I am not going to tell you all in here because I am in Ford forum. You soon will figure out. I just wish Ford will make a better car in the future.
A few problems on the Fusion I don't really like much if your wife is a little short:
1. The passenger side rear view mirror is too low, especially if your wife tries to view things on the side of the road, she can't see anything on the bottom part of the mirror. The side door window block them off.
2. The rear panel under the rear windshield is too high that blocks the rear view mirror of the Fusion.
Those above are really anoying to those who are a little short.
I just picked up a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid a few days ago..33K Canadian
the voice activated navigation seems to be a little sensitive, but I'm getting amazing gas milage. I loved my former fusion, but this one has been great

Congrats! The Fusion hybrid also got excellent reviews AND beat out the Camry Hybrid as the one to own, over all the other full and mild-hybrid sedans!
I'd love to get a hybrid, but right now they don't fit the category for what I need it for. GM has one available, but it can only tow 6K and costs upwards of $70K for a Hybrid Tahoe! I imagine in another five years once the whole hybrid phase calms down a bit the prices will greatly subside. By then, my Durango should be getting tired, lol.

Yeah we have to use our older Ram pickup to tow our boat as our Escape Hybrid only tows a max of 1,000. I would love to get a bigger one as well thats not a large amount of money

I took a survey on the Fusion drivers. They said it is ok. Not many of them say the car is great.
Some Fusion drivers said they already paid some few hundreds bucks for the coolant repair problems in a few years.

Anything new is a lot of money these days. 20-30 years ago you could buy three to five cars on an average salary. Now you're lucky to get one (that works for you) without struggling to make payments. A top line Hyundai Accent can approach $25K with taxes and delivery here in Canada. It's downright disgusting. A base (LS) 2wd Chev Tahoe with no options, runs $51K!

I know prices are just crazy for cars these days compared to 20-30 years ago. Quality was a lot better back then as well. Seems the only way you get cheap cars is the ones not worth the money. I'm lucky to have family that own dealerships that I can get deals from and find cars that I enjoy and work with my life
