We have a 2010 ford focus with 40k miles. When slowly accelerating from a stop to 35mph, the transmission tries to downshift around 30mph. This downshift only lasts for a split second then it returns to it original gear. Most days this doesn't occur, in fact it happens less than once a week. I know it is not right, its like kickdown but no additional pressure is applied to the gas pedal. It seems to happen on cold mornings, but its getting warmer now so I bet it becomes less frequent. Does anyone know what this is? How long are the warranties on these transmissions?

Is that a Focus or a Fusion? The warranty is for 5years 60,000 miles power train but testing it may be in the 3 year 36,000 warranty.
