I can't see ford putting the 3.5L in the fusion for a few more years. WHy? ...because the 3.5L is the new engine in the taurus and midsize lincoln sedans. Once they bore the current 3.5L out to 4.0L (it can be done, ford designed this engine for this reason), then they might revamp the 3.5L and add it to the fusion line. Personally, the 3.0L V6 fits that car just fine with the 6 speed auto. It would be preferable with a 6 speed manual as the 4cyl 5 speed fusion I test drove was barely adequate with four people in the car.
