Rear Brake Trouble at 20K Miles

All,

I had to turn the rear rotors and replace the rear pads on my 2006 Milan V6. Car only has 20K miles on it. Dealer says brakes are fine but why the rears wear out first? This seems very odd since the weight distribution is greater in the front than the rear. Typically the front brakes wear out first. And the other issue is that this occurred only at 20K miles.

Sure glad it's a lease vehicle!

Probably has the same brakes as the Freestyle.

Re: Rear Brake Trouble at 20K Miles

With only 20K, I'd be sure to get the dealer to check out the emergency brake hardware. Lights on the dash don't always come on when there's a problem. At least rear discs are easier to work on than drums! I'd gladly change them over even if I had to spend $35 on pads every year and a half.
