Re: Why Fusion WILL Flop.

I finally drove my wife's Aunt's Milan. It is a 4 cylinder auto and I was surprised how well it got out of it's own way. I thought it had plenty of acceleration for anyone using the car as a daily driver. I was really surprised at the acceleration.

The engine noise was louder than I would like but you probably get used to it as time goes on. I credit the engine noise to the fact that the 4 banger has to wind up to make power, but it does it well.

The interior materials were pretty nice, though the cloth seats look a little funky. Could probably have used better cloth. I thought the rest of the surrounding material was nice. The car rode and handled nice. I think it's a pretty good value for the money. I wonder how fast the V-6 is. And I don't compare HP figures, I compare torque figures and the RPM they are rated at.

I think the Fusion rocks. Should I add I'll be fifty this year? LOL Really they look good and since the trend in sedans is to get smaller, a sedan like this will probably be my next car. I just picked up an '05 Crown Vic so I'll have to wear it out first...in another 8 or 9 years (hopefully)...

Re: Why Fusion WILL Flop.

Well, I am 26. I bought my Fusion in November. I love the look of it, and yes, I think it was made to appeal the younger generation. I mean, they had to make something to appeal us instead of the Mustang. I love it because it is a combo of two cars I like: front of a Cadillac and the rear of an Accord. And about the grill, you can go on E-bay and get a billet grill for the Fusion. It looks real nice. There are also other nice accessories for the Fusion. Check on e-bay or do a search on the web: "2006 Ford Fusion Accessories". When I get mine fixed up, I will definitely put a pick on this site for you to see that it is a unique car that can definitely draw attention.

The Milan is a much nicer looking version in my opinion except the tail lights are weird looking. Great cars anyway!

Re: Why Fusion WILL Flop.

We have to keep in mind that everyone is entitled to an opinion. Personally, I like my new '08 SEL very much. The styling, power and everything else so far is great. I do have to admit though that the Milan does have a bit nicer styled front end but for the price difference I'll stick to my new Fusion.

Ford Motor Company just anounced the sale of Jaguar to an India automobile maker. Their comment was, "we want to concentrate more on the new models that are showing some promise." They didn't mention Fusions but I'll bet the Fusion is on their list.
