PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- A Long Island man has what just might be the Energizer Bunny of cars: A 1966 Volvo that just keeps going and going.
Retired schoolteacher Irv Gordon has logged almost two million miles on his cherry red sports car since buying it in 1966 -- a record that no other auto has been able to accomplish.
Gordon will drive his two-millionth mile in Times Square on March 27 as part of Volvo's 75th anniversary and says he has no plans of stopping after he hits the two million mark.
He drives thousands of miles every month on road trips but does nothing more than basic maintenance to the vehicle.
During all the driving, Gordon has become something of a road's scholar regarding America's roadways.
For instance, he claims New Hampshire has the friendliest drivers, Miami Beach has the most beautiful cars and New York has the worst potholes.
