I am having trouble getting spark plug wires correct on a 1994 850
turbo wagon with 2.3 L 5 cylinder engine. Can anyone tell me
1) Is cylinder #1 on the timing belt (radiator overflow side) or
transmission (battery) side of the engine? I thought it was the timing
belt side, but someone had numbered the wires with #1 starting on the
transmission side.
2) Does the rotor turn counter-clockwise?
3) Are the numbers on the distributor cap always correct? 1 and 2 are
on the raised portion, followed by 4, 5, 3?

#1 is on the timing belt side.

I thought it was clockwise - but I'm not sure.

I pretty sure this is correct.
