US NHTSA Announces Investigation into Volvo Sudden Engine Death Problem

You can read about it at:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050801/volvo...tion.html?.v=2

This sounds like one of the problems owners have reported here many times.

I am amazed that Volvo does not have a more customer-focused response
when they have these kinds of design/manufacturing defect issues arise.

I'm amazed that there have only been 136 complaints! All you Americans
who've had this problem should have written letters of complaint!

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)

Indeed. Very few people go to the trouble of filling a formal
complaint with NHTSA when they have a problem with their vehicle. >99%
of folks just get whatever broke fixed, paying out of their own pockets
if the vehicle warranty is expired.
