Volvo sticker to include service starting in '04 model year

LAS VEGAS -- Volvo Cars of North America will include four years or 30,000 miles of maintenance in the purchase price as part of new-vehicle purchases, beginning with the 2004 model year.
The plan is part of a larger strategy to give Volvos more perceived value, which will be countered by "a slight increase" in prices, says Vic Doolan, president of Volvo Cars North America.
Other brands that feature maintenance included in the purchase price across the model line include Jaguar, Lincoln, Saab, Audi and BMW. But with those marques, the maintenance plan lasts the duration of the warranty. Volvo's warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles.
