It is far more likely to look like a mini RR.... The Freelander has
always followed Range Rover design cues (clamshell bonnet, 'floating'
roof) with a passing nod to Discovery (fake step in roof) etc

No pictures, all those I've seen have had disguise anyway, but this article
may be of interest. http://www.freelanderowners.com/news.asp

When it says that the new model will be BIGGER, does that mean at 6' 1" I'll
be able to sit in one and not have my head jammed into the roof lining ?

It do, dunnit. baby D3, I mean.
based on the Volvo S40/V50 platform, which is apparently going to spawn a
baby volvo 4x4, XC50. Or that's roughly what it says.
Must get tuits to learn some more languages, sometime. I can sort-of read
french, and take educated guesses at italian, Spanish etc. provided I know
what the subject is.

No mention of head room just wider track and longer wheelbase as it's
probably going to be on the same platform as the forthcoming Jaguar
crossover vehicle (7 seater), not the Volvo XC90 one. Oh, and bigger, more
powerful engines too (with the price of fuel now?).
I bet they are right and it gets called LR2 in the States.

From my test drive the problem was width rather than height. The door
seems to curve over and be just where you can crack your head on the
roof. A bit of extra track would sort it I think.

the Italian site suggests it'll be on the V50/S40 and soon-to-be XC50
platform, not the big one. Which would make sense - you don't want it
getting too near disco territory.
