We had a "slasher" in our village a few years ago. From the local website:
TYRE SLASHER CAUGHT! ******** young people probably deserve an apology as
the tyre slasher who plagued the village for many months was finally caught.
It was reported as 41 year old **** **** ****, a former Parish Council
Chairman, who was arrested during a special operation on 14th March 2002
after around 50 cars were attacked, causing more than £7000 worth of damage
and significant grief. He admitted 5 charges of criminal damage to tyres and
asked for 43 other similar offences to be taken into account. He was given a
one-year community rehabilitation order, will do 60 hours of community
service, continue receiving bereavement counselling and pay £6,244.87 to his
victims. Congratulations to the Police Officers involved and to those
residents whose help was invaluable.
You might want to check your Council members.....
