hi guys, im looking at buying a 98,99 or 2000 model 7 seater V8 Auto, what is a s se and se7 model, my main question is what should i look for as in problems or signs of problems, are these things relaible or will it spend a lot of time on tilt trays

any info welcome

nitroman , I answered your other post before I saw this one .
The different models are S= poverty pack SE = is more upmarket , twin a/bags alloy wheels . SE7 is a seven seater , leather upholstery, sunroof , six stacker CD and a whole lot of other bells and whistles .
If you know nothing about these vehicles !! have a specialist check it out as there are a lot of electronics that control normal functions in some models (body roll , traction 4wd control via the ABS) the best bet is to buy from a dealer , that way you get the warranty . For good dealers in your area , speak to the people in the Land Rover club or the Range Rover club in your state .

Certainly in the UK 98 was the model year split from Series1 to Series 2.

The primary changes were in the interior (bigger boot, better trim) and engine (all electric as opposed to all mechanical)

They all share a strong chassis, hardwearing trim and are easy to work on.

My own preference is the 300Tdi as if it fails you or a local mechanic are in with a chance.
