Chassis undersealing 110 style!

What can I say, on reflection I think I would prefer to set my nuts on fire & put them out with a mallet
than go through this filthy, dirty bloody horrible process again!!!

Still, it's now done & all there is to do on the chassis is replace an old patch that's looking a bit
rough. Mind you, it looks a bugger to do!! Might get myself a cheaply welder & have a go myself.

Sorted rear crossmember out with zinc paint (zinc 182) In fact, the chassis looks good from the middle
crossmember forwards, the tatty bit is around the rear wheels. It's been patched, but they look a bit
crap to be honest. I want to tidy that bit up with one big patch on each side. Anyone done anything like
this. What gauge of steel should I use to patch it etc??

I have also made up my mind about colour, I think sand allover is my choice. I would welcome Stephen
Hulls directions on prep & application of this stuff. I would like to do it myself, but would really want
a matt finish.

I'm on a roll at the minute, I changed the oil & the things churning blue smoke at start-up now. I looked
at the oil I put in & I must have picked up the wrong one!! It's thinner than Duncan Goodhews hair!! So,
I need that changing again!!

Nige,
Have you purchased any paint or materials yet and would you care to
refresh my memory as to what stage/colour the bodywork is at present?

Steve.

Hi matye, no I haven't bought anything yet. The old paintwork is Russett Brown & Limestone. I need to
sort a few panels out that are dented etc first & do the bulkhead corners too!

I like to know what I'm about to face in advance!!

It's too time consuming to generalise on the whole course of events
regarding preparation, panelwork or painting, However I'm more than
happy to guide you on specific problems that you may encounter along
the way.

The above colours won't pose a problem with bleed through though when
you paint over the top of them.

Regards,

Steve.
