Could be just the whole mechanism is a bit stiff (and voltage when
engine not running lower than when running hence inability to close).
(Sorry, just re-read your post, and realised you meant"electric"
motor).
Get some silicon spray and liberally spray the tracks where the glass
slides up and down.
Works wonders.
Really.
(Still try the silicon spray, cheap and quick).
