"Listening to the victims, I can't begin to understand the pain I inflicted
on these innocent people," Rudolph said in his statement, which he read afte
r 14 victims or their relatives read statements. Two other statements were r
ead into the record.
"Let me walk you through this," he said.
"Second, yesterday, at about four pm, Miss Beck was involved in an accident
during pre-production work on Earth Resurrected. The accident caused her to
be suffocated; first aid was administered at the scene and Miss Beck was the
n taken to Pomona Valley Hospital, where she remains now.
I looked at Joshua, who was sitting there, a sad doggie look on his face. He
was right. He wasn't happy about it, but he was. I bit the inside of my che
ek until it bled. I was in a jumble of emotions. Sad for Michelle, who chose
a stupid, stupid way to end her life. Angry at myself for believing that Mi
chelle couldn't, wouldn't try to kill herself, and for taking her body so fa
r away from where it should be. Fearful, because now I didn't know what I wa
s going to about Michelle. Or myself. Where could I take her to die? To fina
lly die?
