Ok:
I bought her because she was a "Dream" since boyhood.
So far she has let me down more times than my £5k Mers 500 SEL which ran
for 75K miles and with only3 major up-cocks.

This "LEMON" has bust 3 times in 5 months.

Latest is a Rattling "Cat" on one side of the engine (the one with the head
gasket that "blew" under warranty).

Apparently only a main dealer has the parts and it requires BOTH sides of
the V8 exhaust (and both CAT's) to be done at the same time.

Q. If only one CAT is broken inside (still meets emissions) but rattles,
why do I have to replace both?

Any Advice out there Guys?

Dan, had the same think happen on my classic, idiot at the garage said it
was the gearbox!!!!!!
Anyway it turned out that you can just get the rattling cat replaced, there
was a place locally who cut the bad one out and fitted a universal one. Ran
the car for 2 years and never had another problem.

try going to a different garage or exhaust specialist and get a second
opinion.
