Re: Jag wagon cometh to the US....
Jaguar confirms it will sell X-Type wagon in U.S. this year
MARK RECHTIN | Automotive News
SAN FRANCISCO -- Jaguar Cars North America will sell the wagon version of its X-Type in the United States in the 2005 model year.
The X-Type wagon will go on sale in November. It will be the first Jaguar wagon to be sold in America. Only one trim level will be offered, with a 3.0-liter V-6 engine, five-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Purists have cringed at the idea of a Jaguar wagon. But Jaguar's dealer council asked the automaker to bring the vehicle across the Atlantic, said C.J. O'Donnell, executive vice president of Jaguar Cars North America.
Pricing won't be announced until closer to launch, but O'Donnell said a ballpark figure would be $35,000.
He gave no sales target.
The 2004 X-Type, with a 2.5-liter V-6, starts at $29,995, including destination charges.
