Can: Jaguar Sales Lead The Way In August For Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover

Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover Canada announces Jaguar sales for the month of August total 226 units, up 7 percent compared with the same period last year. Jaguar Land Rover Canada sales total 371 units for the month of August, a 28 percent decrease, compared with the same period in 2002. The new XJ sales were 50 units in total, representing a 138 percent increase, compared with the same month last year. Land Rover sales total of 145 units for August is down 53 per cent compared with the same month last year.

Freelander sales for the month of August declined, selling 87 units, compared with 201 units last year, as run-out of the 2003 models continues at a slower pace due to the new, refreshed 2004 Freelander coming later this year.

"The 2004 models for both Jaguar and Land Rover are hitting the showroom floors over the next couple of months," said Vic Bernardini, president of Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover Canada. "We continue to have an outstanding product line-up and expect sales to improve as economic conditions improve."

Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover Canada sold 2,576 vehicles year-to-date, down 24 per cent from last year. Jaguar reports a decrease in year-to-date sales of 14 per cent compared with last year, totaling 1,609 units sold. Land Rover's year-to-date sales fell 35 per cent from last year, with 967 vehicles sold.
