Victor Gauntlett, the enterpreneur who saved Aston Martin in the early 1980s died on Monday aged 60.
Mr. Gauntlett worked in the oil industry prior to joining Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd in 1980. He became Chairman and CEO and he was instrumental in restructuring the company then offering it to Ford Motor Co. After the takeover Gauntlett remained on the Board until 1991.
Lately he was Chairman of Automotive Technik Ltd, a British company which in 2000 took over the manufacturing rights for the famous Pinzgauer off-roader.
