1956 Ford Thunderbird 292 - lots of fun with oil

Hey Guys,

A friend and i have been working on his 1956 292 thunderbird, beautiful amazing car.

I've had a lot of fun, but have no idea what Im doing. I would really appreciate some help.

We just got done changing the oil, it was leaking quite a bit from the oil filter, so we figured it was just a bad filter gasket, but the new filter still leaks some (but it was old oil, so that may change)

The issue we are having is burning oil. it is coming out of the exhaust, but only the passenger side exhaust. It's white smoke, and we let the car run for about 10 minutes and still smoked the same the whole time (a lot).

I'm not sure where to start looking, It seems like maybe just one cylinder is messed up? since it's only the right side smoking.

I'm just lost and would love some help.

Blue smoke is usually an indicator of oil burning. White smoke typically is coolant burning. You could be looking at a head gasket issue or intake gasket issue. Is the coolant low??? Is it overheating??? With the radiator cap off do bubbles form in the coolant continuously???

ever fix that bird? i have doing the same thing. smokes right side, not right away when started but after 3 minutes of running, good compression 160-175 all clys
