i pulled a 292 out of my pickup and replaced it with a 460. im looking to put the 292 in a smaller car for a parts getter. any suggestions to squeeze more horsepower out of the 292? ive looked into a 4barrel intake and the obvious exhaust upgrades. how big of a carb can it handle? any other fairly cheap upgrades that get a good bang for your buck out there? thanks a bunch.

The 292 has small in take valves SO it will be hard to get alot out of it on the top end so putting a big carb on it will be a waste of time. I have a 4bbl intake with the small teapot 4bbl on, it did help quit a bit on mine till I wore it out I don't know what to do with it now. my 292 had that cross over on it An leaked real bad, but would go real good I thought. then I fixed the exhaust leaks the guy put small pipe on it an i lost alot on top end took it back told him to put the biggest he could get on it the power came back then I put the 4bbl on it An it ran pritty nice till the oil presure left.
