Hi people im from bathurst nsw, thought you might be able to help me. i brought a speed boat with a 292 which is direct drive to prop, it has a triple 3bolt manifold with repco elec fuel pump twin holley94s (middle hole blanked off) im haveing trouble geting it past 3000rpm pretty sure its the carbs. do you know how to set the floats and roughly how many turns for the mix screws when running twins. also there is a vac line from the dizzy to manifold, i was told the advance only works from carb vac not manifold vac and to plug them off. any info would be a treat mate. thx fitz 06 ps it also has small flat spots but it doesnt run rough

94's ?
ok try starting the mixture screws at just over 11/4 turns each , you need a vacuum meter to set and blance, if you don't know how ring the local rod club and ask for help , you need the dizzy vac line connected UNLESS the dizzy has been modded ( but I doubt it) so hook it up to the manifold close to the base of a carb stand off on the log section for a consistant vaccuum . there should be a fitting on the manifold somewhere , get back to us and good luck
Get it reving? You are a bit under carbed. 2 94s give about 300-350 CFM (depending on what ones you have). It could use somewhere around 500 CFM. The 3rd 94 would get you there.
some of those motors ran in reverse direction for marine use( common to mercruiser gear from that era) if someone has used a normal dissy without locking the advance, it will never go over 3000rpm. just something to check. (i'll admit i got caught by it once!) if all set up ok, only 2 of those carbs will work fine, you'll just get more power with 3 of them. cheers
