BA LPG rod part number BA 6200B?????

Apparently the BA LPG rod was made stronger due to backfiring bending the standard rod.
I got hold of a new LPG rod and the rod is stronger in the big end section but in the beam section it has the same cross sectional area as a standard EF rod.
Does anyone know whether BA 6200B is the latest part number for a LPG Rod or is it that they just used a better manufacturing process and retained the same beam section which resulted in getting the right strength out of this rod.

I've heard the same thing about the LPG rods, turbotrana. Perhaps the big end section is where the weakest point was, you would need to do a FEA to work it out really. Can't help you on the part number sorry.

/me wonders how many people know what FEA stands for?

Ive been described as a vault of usless random knowledge.

Ill take it as a complement i think.............

Re: BA LPG rod part number BA 6200B?????

for the uninitiated Finite Element Analysis.

Now to the parts bin:

AU2 6200 A is listed as ROD ASSY - CONNECTING, (4.0L DOHC EFI 6 CYL LPG (VCT) OR 4.0L DOHC EFI 6 CYL (VCT))

BA 6200 B is a bit cheaper and listed as ROD ASSY - CONNECTING, 4.0L DOHC
EFI 6 CYL LPG (VCT)

BA 6200 A is considerably more expensive and listed as ROD ASSY - CONNECTING, 4.0L DOHC EFI 6 CYL TURBO (VCT)

Will try and hunt down the relative specs.

Oops sorry! Basically finite element analysis calculates the stresses on different areas of the part you are studying, I'm sure you've seen pictures with colours used to indicate the stress.
