confused Why no LPG on V8?

Why is there no LPG option on V8 Fords? Surely this would be a very popular option? I wonder if there are any plans to intro it with AV...hope so.

I would guess it's because they did not want to spend the money developing an LPG system for the windsor when it is so close to replacement, and that it will be included with our next V8, time will tell.

Might be the engine bay is already chockers and there is no room but I doubt it is that.
Interesting now you mentioned it i'm curious myself.
Maybe someone from Ford could answer this?

Probably got to do with the V8 being imported, so can't spec too many changes from what's done in the USA (no LPG),

The 4.6 16V and I think the 5.4 16V can/could be had as CNG engines in the US. Knowing this I think there might be an LPG V8 in the V8 if the demand was enough.

Just because Ford doesnt have a factory LPG option for the V8's doesnt mean you cant get it done yourself.

Its not that hard to take a v8 falcon down to a LPG installers and hand over the $1500 - $1800 for the installation.

Or if you are really keen... you can go for a gas injection system (more power, 1/3 the gas) for about $4000.

Yeah, Thats what I was going to do but I was told I'd lose my warranty. Brought a 6 for the time being.

Hi,

Sorry to go OT but whilst we are on the subject of lpg...

Do you think the gas option could be fitted to an ed?
Surely the parts would be interchangable with the inline six being identical (practically).

Cheers

Will

Yeah but I doubt if Tickford will fit it for ya. Ask your local installer for a quote. I had an ED Futura on gas a few years ago, went well but not as good as my AU3 dual fuel
