2008 Edge LTD

Buyer beware
last month i bought a 2008 EDGE $38K
last week while driving thewheel became dislodged from the ball joint
no parts were broken, worn or defective, it simply fell out
ford has repaired the vehicle but i hope they issue a recall and check everyones.

to all buyers, be careful as incident happened w/o warning

Re: 2008 Edge LTD

Thanks for the heads up. I don't own an Edge but I see more and more around town every month.

Dodge had a similar problem with their Durango models. It took nearly four years and several accidents before they issued a recall on the matter. If Ford was smart they'd look more into the problem now before it costs them millions of dollars, and several lives in the years to come. It also goes to show that no matter how much regular maintenance you put into a vehicle, the inevitable can still happen.

Re: 2008 Edge LTD

I have heard a popping noise in my front when backing out of my driveway. Did you hear the popping noise first before it came off???

Re: 2008 Edge LTD

Yep, it all comes down to personal preference on what you want to buy, or just what suits your lifestyle.
