I don't fully understand your questions. Do you need tightening sequence and torque specs? Or what? Of course you know left side/ right side, front and back and the gasket needs to go on the correct way? I believe on the Ford V-8's, there is a tab (on the gasket) that sticks out from the front of the head, to be sure it is installed correctly.

im sorry for the qustion not making any sense at all. but yes the torque and tighting sequence would help as well. but i meant like do i got to takeoff the distributer before i take off the heads or do i got to drain any fluids stuff like that and of course any tips would be helpfull. or do i just start taking the heads off and thats it? thanks

Re: help on changing head gasket on 390 please

cylinder head bolts: 80-90 ft. lbs.
Intake manifold bolts: 33.5 ft. lbs.
exhaust manifold bolts: 15 ft.lbs.

cylinder head bolt tightening sequence:

9 5 1 3 7
10 6 2 4 8

Head removal: (taken from Chilton's)
1. remove intake manifold
2. remove any remaining accessories
3. remove exhaust manifolds
4. unbolt and remove heads
