Power window switches

Hi all, just joined the US forum to see if you can help with replacement power window switch information. I'm restoring an Australian Falcon circa 1975 and it uses US power window switches part no. D5AB-14540-BA (multi door and an equivalent single door switch, dont have its part no.). I've just looked at "The Switch Doctor" website in US and he is selling new switches that LOOK the same as mine but I cant tell for sure, he just lists US vehicle usages.
So some questions if I may:
1. can anybody tell me what US models used these window switches?
2. is there an alternate that plugs straight in and is available?
3. has anybody used "The Switch Doctor" switches? are they any good?
thanks

Re: Power window switches

thanks Catskinner, I googled the Rear Counter earlier and found that "AB" switch and asked them about interchangeability etc with no response to the question, only "$475 + postage" for the AB switch! hence my question to you guys to see if there is an interchangeable unit used on US product - I'm sure there is just need to find the link! cheers

Re: Power window switches

Ow, didn't know they were that expensive in my last post. As I had stated in a previous post, the critical part of the switch are it's physical dimensions. Technically, andy spring return 3 pole switch can be used for the windows, if one with exact dimensions can't be found, you may have to modify the base of another switch.

Have you tried these guys? Classic cars & parts for sale NSW classified adverts They might not have what you need, but they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: Power window switches

Could someone help me out, on my 95 Grand Marquis the front passenger window quit working about a week after purchasing the dang car from a dealer, I don't get it, but the front driver window working good, the two back windows is not working as well, I hear the motor in the back driver side door when I press the switch but it do not roll down, maybe something in the door is blocking it from coming on down, I just got that car 4-28-15 right. I was blessed to get a car this week, a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis. On April 28th this past Tuesday that car was only 2500.00 then taxes was only 24.00 so it was 2524.00, the way it worked out was they said they'll let me trade in the truck at a swap out/trade in price of 2500.00 as a selling price right, God did it. I did not have to pay no out of pocket money at all, the truck itself has a blown head gasket which is why I decided to trade/swap it, they did it at a good deal. I went from a 97 F150 to a 95 Marquis, now tell me ain't God good, He certainly is. I went from a money making down to a no money making to a car this time. I had the truck for about 3 years, since 7-3-12. I am glad to got the car from the same dealer I got the truck from. It is used but it can still get me from point A to point B is all that matters, the car rides real good, ready for the road. I test drove it before I decided to get it. That is my praise break. Giving thanks and praises to God from whom blessings flow down from. I just can't thank him enough for what he has truly blessed me with as of yesterday, and it has only 141,917 miles on it before I went for it. I got to get a radio put in it. My insurance will only be 22.00 on it, on the truck it was only 30.00, a savings of 8.00. Help me praise and shout to the Lord for what he has blessed me with. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. And for the tag, when I get the title, they gonna help me transfer it. God I thank you for that big blessing for what you blessed me with Tuesday. I can't thank You enough. I am now ready to style, profile, and pimp in style. And I did not let them know about the truck it has a blown head gasket lol even though they test drove it before they did that awesome deal with me, man the car is road ready, I believe the throttle body needs a good cleaning out the way it does when I am trying to accelerate it on the road, other than that it rides real smooth like a Cadillac. Yall cheer me up since I got a Marquis

I'm glad you're blessed but please there's no need to keep posting the same phrase over and over.
