Att. Manager Broome Ford:
Please note that I have contacted Ford Australia re. your patently unsatisfactory servicing of my vehicle in relation to an auto transmission problem.
I was advised that the problem - continuous surging back to 3rd gear from 4th gear when cruising at highway speed - was caused by a faulty 'Inhibitor Switch' & was charged A$350-oo to replace this component.
However, on the drive down to Port Hedland [which was the whole point & purpose of getting the repairs done] there was no difference in the problem whatsoever - in fact it seemed to be getting worse.
I have had to leave the vehicle in Port Hedland as it is unsafe to drive back.
The RAC Agent in Port Hedland advised me that he couldn't see how the Inhibitor Switch would have anything at all to do with the problem; & that it was far more likely to be caused by either the 'speedo transducer' or one or more of the following components of the TCU:
Input parameters
o 1.1 Vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
o 1.2 Turbine speed sensor (TSS)
o 1.3 Transmission fluid Temperature sensor (TFT)
o 1.4 Switches
o 1.5 Inputs from other controllers
Output parameters
o 2.1 Shift solenoids
o 2.2 Pressure control solenoids
o 2.3 Torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC)
o 2.4 Outputs to other controllers
Given that I was charged A$350-oo for achieving absolutely NOTHING, I would appreciate a full refund at your earliest convenience.
Thank you, Peter Ward.

Greetings
Broome Ford recently charged me A$350-oo to replace an Inhibitor Switch in order to prevent my '96 EF sedan auto from surging between 3rd & 4th gear at highway speeds.
This, however, made no difference at all & when I advised Broome Ford of this, their only response was to say "we'll make a note of it"
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!
Please advise on procedure to get a refund.
Thank you, Peter WARD
