gearbox drama

ok it seemsto take a long time for it to change from 1st to second then when it changes from 2nd to 3rd it has a vibration in it. not a tailshaft vibration but within the gearbox. the gear box also make a wynding noise i thought it was my diff but it sounds as though it is coming from the gearbox. when the rear end is on jacks and you put car into drive you can hear the wynd coming from the gear box. do i need a new box ??? or is it worth getting it fixed....

Re: gearbox drama

i guess getting it fixed would be good enough.... but if its old, replacing it may be a good option too!

Re: gearbox drama

Hey mate. the usual thing that happens with gearboxes is to get a change over one where you swap your box for a reconditioned one. you need to go to a tranny specialist and i don't mean like Precila queen of the desert. Not man people deal with trany's as there are a fairly complex setup so you need to see a specialist like fluid drive or a smaller transmission specialist.

A reco box will give you a warranty which is better than getting a second hand one cos you don't know what your going to get and the price is comparable.

cheers!
