XC 351 fairmont

Im looking at buying a 1978 XC fairmont with a 351 cleveland and automatic trans - going to have a look 2nite.

What is the best option for a manual conversion - I have heard 4spd toploader is the way to go. The question is will I need a different driveshaft to match up with the manual box?

Does anyone know what the factory diff is? I would want to go 9 inch for sure.

Cheers

Mike

Re: XC 351 fairmont

If its got a c4 a toploader will fit straight in, same yolk and x member. An if its a factory 351 it should have a 9 inch
