Hello,

I am in the process of replacing the entire front suspension as well as adding original disc brakes to my 1968 390 GT Cougar. I have mostly all the suspension parts, brakes, drum spindles, sway bar, springs, strut rods, lower control arms already removed. I am having a bit of trouble getting the upper control arms out and I will be removing the steering components soon. Then all new parts are going back into the car. Any advice from those that have completed these projects either in total or individual parts would be helpful.

Wow! Is there an echo in this forum? Upper A-arms: First get a good spring compressor. Then put it on.(Pretty easy so far,huh). Then compress the spring so the last coil is loose. Then remove your upper a-arm nuts. Then pull out the arm.(You may be able to get a pry bar behind the pivot) Release the spring and you're done.WARNING: Make sure you know how the compressor operates. The coil will knock your head right off if it comes loose when compressed.
