With perhaps more in common with a smart phone than with the gasoline engine in your common car, it's appropriate that Ford will debut its new Focus EV at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Just over a year ago, Ford first confirmed it would begin production of an electric Focus model, based on the same platform as the new 2012 model it first rolled out at the Detroit Auto Show last January.
Powered by lithium-polymer batteries, the Focus EV will initially be offered in 14 states as well as Washinton, D.C.
No additional details have been provided but with CES starting January 6th, look for an update to this story soon.
