Re: How-to: Grand Marquis Window Motor Bushing Replacement
these are the window motors used in past Fords... this is video from a window motor from a country squire if i remember right... the window motor is removed from the car (1979-1991) Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, and Town Car by drilling out 4 rivots ... i drill all but one, and attach a bolt to attempt to kind of hold in place to line it up later... then i drill the 4th... i then swing the motor mechanism over and unbolt it from the arms inside... after this it is unplugging and pulling from door to get it out to work on it... after this video you reattach it to the mechanism arms and reallign the holes to bolt it up... after bolted, i like to check the window operation before putting door panel and arm rest back on the door...
in near future, i will get pictures of the door panel on car being removed, drilling, bolting, motor bushing replacement, then re-assembly... by back windows dont work... my driver door of car in signature was disassembled in the door when i bought it bouncing around and had to repair... so my fronts work now, but need to get rear windows working as soon as my car isnt needed daily
