2013 Applus+Idiada Volar-E

VOLAR-e - YouTube

The car is based on the Croatian Rimac Concept One electric supercar, and its four electric motors with 1000 hp and 1002 Nm of torque, the most powerful electric car on the planet.

Volar-E to “hundred grand” accelerates in just 3.4 seconds and achieve a top speed, which is 300 km / h takes 12.1 seconds.

The project, which is financially supported by the European Commission, was completed in only four months, and the end result is carbon fiber bodywork, chrome-molybdate chassis and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Fully charge the battery, power 35kWh, it is 15-20 minutes.

Re: 2013 Applus+Idiada Volar-E

Very impressive. Two things I went looking for, but found no data. First and foremost, how long does the charge last, or did they day that and I saw something shiny? Second, I really wonder what they do for heat dissipation. To obtain a full charge in such a short time, a lot of heat is generated by a battery, which means if you dump this thing on the ignorant, you know there will be battery fires and lawsuits.

Yup, I'm a cynic.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
