In the end we all pay for it when we buy a new car . The oncost has to be clawed back somewhere , usually passed on to us one way or another .

Well, between what Audi, Toyota, and now GM are\have gone through, I think the auto industry is really scared of our government now. Granted, GM deserved it, but I don't think they ever proved that Toyota and Audi did anything wrong.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

You cant expect a car to last for ever , they must be maintained and repaired as needed .They also have a certain longevity and , dependant on usage , may need replaced .How many other products give you a 13/14 warranty ??

Re: Mazda recalls 109,000 older SUVs for rust problem

Agreed. Especially with the road and weather conditions. My area cars only make it a few years before rust sets in. Can't expect a company to build a car that won't rust for 20 years and go 200-300k miles without issues. Will cost a fortune and hurt the economy more than people think. Recalls have gone from something that just had to be done to if people just complain the responsibility gets passed back to manufacturer.

I whole heartedly agree, but what can you expect when the government chase every hangnail that can be blamed on the car? I run both our car and truck through the carwash in the winter all the time just to get rid of the salt underneath.

But most people don't. To lazy. I'm not very consistent with it but don't expect someone else to pay for my laziness

Well, my wife fully understands that I'm having an affair with my truck. In the winter, I drive it once on salty roads during the week, it goes through the car wash that weekend. $0 year old trucks are highly susceptible to salt.
