2010 Ford Taurus SHO: First Drive |

Enticing eye candy debuting at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show included Ford Motor Company's 2010 Taurus SHO, a high-output version of the smartly redesigned 2010 Taurus sedan- revealed a month earlier at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Taurus SHO (Super High Output) first appeared in 1989; soon, a cult following developed until 1999 when the SHO went on hiatus… until now!
A key aspect to the SHO’s future success is that it’s based on the newly re-engineered 2010 Taurus. The storied Taurus has gone from the car that many claim saved Ford in the mid 1980s to the Jelly-bean, 'styled by committee' miss-hit of the mid 1990s, to the miss-named Five Hundred in 2006. Give Ford credit; it brought back the Taurus name in 2008 and brings back a car worthy of that name in 2010. Maybe the Taurus can save Ford again.
This 2010 entry marks the sixth-generation of the Taurus with plenty of forward thinking that helped make the first generation so desirable. Ford actually moved up the introduction by one year. Originally it was slated as a 2011 intro. A 2010 Taurus SHO starts at $37,995 (including destination charge) versus a standard Taurus with a $25,995 for an entry SE trim.

While everybody else seems to be maintaining the status quo, Ford Motor Company continues to trundle out new vehicles at a torrid pace, the latest being a thoroughly reengineered Taurus sedan.
It's perhaps hard to imagine today, but back in the mid 1980s, the original Taurus turned the North American car market on its ear. Suddenly every conveyance on the road looked 20 years old. Sales took off and it wasn't long before Ford's new 'aero' warrior was selling in excess of 300,000 units on an annual basis. But like any hot new talent, fame and fortune also brought with it complacency. After snatching the mantle of America's best selling car from the Honda Accord in the 1990s, the Taurus was redesigned once again, though its tadpole looks weren't universally well received. Add to that, growing quality issues at Ford and the third generation car quietly slid into fleet obscurity, before being dragged off to the glue factory.
The car's replacement, although competent, was decidedly beige and it proved hard for the words 'Five Hundred' to roll of the tongue for most consumers. When current CEO Alan Mulally was given the reins, naturally one of the first tasks was to build and restore recognized nameplates, so the Five Hundred was given a nip and tuck to become a re-born Taurus, though as we'll see here it was merely a warm up for the new 2010 model.

Steeda Announces Sport Edition of 2010 Mustang GT |

While the team at Mustang-tuner Steeda Autosports continues to work on the high performance Q Series of the new 2010 Mustang, those who just can't wait any longer can now enjoy some of the fun thanks to a new Steeda Sport Edition package.
Included in the setup are: a performance air intake, underdrive pulleys, sport springs, billet lower control arms, a sport shifter, chrome Steeda Spyder wheels in a 20×9.9-inch and 20×11-inch fitment and a set of Nitto NT05 tires. Steeda Sport Edition Mustangs will also stand out thanks to the company’s trademark hood work and sidewinder stripes.
The package is available now for $6,995.
Steeda is expected to release the Q-Series 2010 Mustang GT later this year.
