Question 2000 Ford Ranger

I am thinking about purchasing a used 2000 Ford Ranger with a 2.5 4 cylinder engine. The engine has 8 spark plug and I think they only used 2 spark plugs per cylinder designed for a few years. I am not familiar with this type of engine and am concerned if there are any issues with it or known issues with it.

If anyone has had any experience with or knowledge of this type of engine, I would appreciate your advice.

Re: 2000 Ford Ranger

Biggest complaint I've seen is that the 2.5L is somewhat underpowered for the weight of the Ranger. Mechanically speaking, fairly reliable.
Bert likes this.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
