Trying to do a motor swap

So I need a new motor in my 01 ranger and I found one for cheap but it?s in a 1995. Both engines are 4.0 and v6. Just wanting to know if there will be any problems with it fitting once it gets dropped in. Thanks

Re: Trying to do a motor swap

You should the sohc 4.0 while the 95 uses an ohv 4.0. There are some different sensors that would not be used on the older motor and would not be worth the swap. Find a 4.0 out of a ranger or explorer from 01+ model year or a 4.0 out of a 05-10 mustang. They all use the 4.0 sohc like your stock motor, albeit, may have some minor differences.
