Hi all

Myself and shaynet ran the TE-50's today at wakefield park and what a result. We were the fastest fords out there on the day and demolished everything on the track including a highly modded CV8 Monaro running Potenza RE055's, evo lancers 5 & 6, Wrx Sti's etc, blew the doors off the BA Series II GT with every bolt on known to man + all the usual herrod gear, 4 Capa prepared Turbo falcons with stage II mods and one was running AP racing brake setup...... The only cars that were faster, on a private two car run were two race prepared MRT team Mitsubishi Evo 9's that ran times in the 1:12.50's. We were running the T3's around at 1:14:30 on street tyres and these blokes could not belive it. Overall it was a top day and had heaps of fun. I have in car cam as usual and will most likely up the video tomorrow night. Not bad for two standard T3 Te-50's with very mild mods consisting... Street Tyres, Exhaust, CAI & K&n Filter.

I should also mention....

Special thanks to sbutler who was there on the day and provided excellent tips in tyre pressure's for that particular circuit and his detailed knowledge in regards to V8 Supercars setups and his superbike racing background. Thanks also steve for the use of the timing transponders.

Cheers.

Cheers.

No problems Al happy to help..
Well done to both you & shayne, the cars looked the part & performed very well. Its a shame that T3 man had to leave, would have been good to compair times between all three of the T3s. Not only that but three T3s thrashing around the track would have looked great :hy:

Nice photos, but how about some different shots, maybe from a different angle?
Those shots were done by professional photographer who work at the track and their vantage points are limited to a few spots on the western side of the track. All the shots are either coming onto, or at the end of, the main straight. Don't know if you are familiar with the track but there are only two left turns.

I guess they could have got some in the tight left "fish hook"

There is in car video footage of about 4 laps from the red car on the www.fordforums.com which shows how fast they are

I think AL posted the vidio on here to Shayne.

Settle down now Simon, Thats the fox's car & you know its only got an exhaust & K&N so your F6 would smash it at the drags.
But saying you'd like to get on the track against it might be biting of a bit more than even you can choo..
Remember there are corners on a real race track :whoaa: HA HA

The blood orange BA II Xr6 had a aps stage II kit on it with everything, AP racing brakes. His best 1/4 time at eastern creek was a 12.1 something. So 1/4 times really count for nothing on the circuit. Corner speed is everything. I slowly revved my car too 5500rpm only in the interest of engine preservation. I don't like getting my car towed home...if you know what I mean simon.:hy:

Cheers.

Pretty clear outcome id say. :hy:
Corner speed is very important, but so is straight line speed and HP, no good being 1/4 of a second quicker in the corners if you're a 1 1/2 seconds slower down the straights, some people forget tracks have straights too, not just corners!
Good track times are as much to do with the driver as the car, Foxy can obviously steer a car no doubt and loves to push it hard!
But dont forget most people either dont want to push their cars anywhere near their limits on track days or dont have the skills to do so.
Judging by the reaction of MOTOR to the STOCK F6's overall balance and prowess on a curcuit and their claim that its the Quckest and fastest Falcon they've ever driven on a curcuit (dont forget how tight and technical Winton is) id say a stock F6 shouldnt have any problems at all actually, a modified F6 would really ruffle a few ego's, especially amongst the modified HSV clan!

haha steve, my cars not set up for the drags, And i can tell you that on my fpv driver day there wasnt a car that could hold a candle to the F6, It was so much faster then my GTP it wasnt funny, and i wasnt pulling the piss i was just asking thats all!!!. i dont have to worry to much about corner exiting speed ect with my beasty heres a little clip of what happenes when you try and put your foot down in third http://www.xtremefordtuning.com/video/typhoon_2006.wmv

have you got any more vids of your car foxy?

Oh and dont quote aps this and that as being special, poor thing was prolly going in and out of limp mode with the ol piggy back. I know a certain member whos stock F6 wiped the floor with a group of aps cars and a T3 and 4 GT's. :shh:

Hey Foxy how have you been mate, Hows the beast going?

Been good. Very busy with work at the moment but trying to have a bit of fun in between. Cars going great at the moment. Looking forward to seeing the results you get from Jamies car. What do you think you will get realisticly from his mods with your edit?.

Cheers...

Yeah wack them up if you can or email it to me. You said something once about an exhaust mod or something too.

On another note from one of your previous posts.......

I made the comparision between the XR6T with aps II Kit vs Phoon because their was no phoon there on the day to make a comparision. The XR6T with aps mods would be far far quicker than the stock phoon anyway. We have three Typhoons in our car club, with the only mods being the usual, exhaust, filter etc..in our club, and my mates XR6T with aps II kit on it floggs them in a straight line as well as myself and steve.

Credit should be given when due i believe. We were the fastest street cars their on the day....and it was a ford, not a holden nor an STI nor a EVO. We ran the cars N/A, with the limited mods ( exhaust, K&N, CAI )on pure street tyres, and I was running Dunlop SP9000's which we all know, is not the ideal tyre for circuit use. Far from it. No suspension mods at all, as i run the current stock tickford suspension and no adjustment to camber or ride height. It was also my very first run at wakefeild park on that circuit so I was inexperienced and if you watch the video you can see i was trying different methods at various parts of the circuit for eg...fast in slow out...slow in fast out. So there is plenty left in the car to run better times with more track time and much better tyres.

If you want to make a comparison V8 to V8, there was a guy there with a 325 rwkwt monaro, with full koni coil over suspension, fully adjustable ride height, and adjustable castor and camber, running neg 3 camber on potenza RE055's semi slicks, and we were .5 second a lap faster than he was. And he was a regular at that circuit. We certainly ruffled his feathers..

MRT race EVO 9 cars were there for testing purposes. They were their all day testing tyres, pressure's and suspension setups. They must have pre booked because they got their own 20 min sessions with nothing on the track but them. We were 2 secs a lap slower than these guys and they couldn't believe it. They were timing us as we went around...and the MRT guys came into the pits to have a look and check out our cars after our session. They walked away in total amazment and could not believe a factory ford N/A was running around on street tyres and was posting regular low 14's on that circuit. For a heavy car that is a sensational time.

I think we did pretty good considering what we were up against.

Cheers

your right credit due when it is but its a pretty bold statement or esumption to say that just cos you beat an xr6t with a asp kit that your car would flog a f6 or another t.

just remember my car for example runs 124 mph over the quater now put that on a race track comming out of corners and imagine the exit speed and how fast the thing excelerates and then understand why i said there isnt much that would hold a candle to my f6 around a track........ food for thought.

It'll be interesting all right- if anyone can do it Simon, you would be the man!! (dropped it off to Ierace's today too mate BTW)

BTW- seeing Al's car in that vid it's pretty clear he can drive, but I'd hate to put anything up against your F6- I mean ANYTHING

Man you can drive though Al- Put you on a plane to Barbagallo to see what you can get in my T3 mate- offers open if you get over this way....

I know what your saying. But I make my comparisions stock vs stock with limited mods, being exhaust ,cold air and filter. Your car has an edit and god nows what else & of course it will be faster. I'm not argueing that point. Hope you have big brakes....lol..

You could do the same mods to the F6 and whip the T3- sad but true

And even if you didn't do the same mods but spent the same money- you would get a hell of alot more out of the F6 with NOTHING else but the edit.

and yeah, he's got the Brembo's too.......
