Re: **Warning** FPV are taking notes

Ok, I got some clarification on this WARRANTY issue today. I can quote this, so I will do my best to explain, GO AND READ YOUR BOOKS IN THE GLOVE BOX. The new warranty policy is no different from the old one. All our cars fall under the same policy and wording.
As for the warranty side, FPV have nothing to do with it, its FORD who decide on warranty as FPV manufacture under the FORD logo, so it is them who decide on the issues of warranty themselves.
The dealers have had a directive come through from FORD, saying that modifications are to be reported to them if a customer is trying to claim a warranty. Modifications are a seperate issue, dont think for one minute that, just because a REPUTABLE dealer or enhancement specialist has fitted a supercharger to your new GT, thats its covered under factory warranty.
For example there was a GT in QLD, it had nitro fitted to it, its engine blew up, it was taken off, climed some rubbish to FORD, they worked it out what had happened, VOIDED HIS WARRANTY.
So the dealers have been told, be honest, or it will be at your peril if you dont, basicly its like fraud.
There is another case in QLD at the moment, its got some sort of knock in the engine, they think, well it has a set of aftermarket extractors on it, FORD havnt VOIDED his warranty, but have told him to take the extractors off to prove that its not them causing the problem.
So it appears that FORD are heading down the path of letting us do some things, but anything to extremes are not going to be tolerated, SUPERCHARGING, NOS, and doing stuff like that. The ECU is another problem, this altering torque curves and rev limiters is being looked at now. I was told a chip does not necessarly void your warranty, bolt ons have to be seen to contribute to the cause of the problem that has occured, so a slight power gain mod is not likely to cause to much damage to the drive line.
There is going to be no data base kept on cars and there mods, as ive said previously they are looking at certain cars and people who have an unusualy high amount of warranty claims.
Me personaly, I dont think there is too much to worry about, and as I have said before, its up to you to establish a good relationship with your dealer and mechanic, then you both know where you stand.

HOLDEN Adventra LX8, Martini Mica, Ochre leather, mods comming soon, and loving it!!!!
HOLDEN ASTRA CD, Ultra Blue, Skaife kit, manual
GONE FOR GOOD

Thats what I said some time back on another thead.Weather or not the mod was done is the issue, not who did it. Like I said then, It all goes back to the old HDT/BROCK Polarisriser thing, and we all know what a shitfight that turned into dont we.........

Spon on Mark, when I was getting prices, some dealers recommended a Herrods exhaust and promised the ute would even be transported there and back (no extra kms).

Ford is doing the right thing. For example if you were to chip your playstation to play all formats, your warranty would be dismissed.

Re: **Warning** FPV are taking notes

In that FPV don't make a convertible, I am going to cut off my roof and weld the rear doors shut. Less weight will give me a quicker 400m time and really that is ALL that there is to owning a car, everything else is of no consequence.
Also blueprint is such a common colour, I am going to paint it pink with a bright purple cobra stripe down the middle.
I think I should replace the rear wing too, it is too common. Are the 767s left over from the collapse of ansett still at Tulla? Ya reckon they would notice any missing bits?
Hey I bet I would be the first in Chappel St with ailerons and 40 degree flaps. (actually probably not)

Will this affect my warranty? After all FPV must have made a car that can be painted other colors and MUST want privateers to do chop-chop conversions otherwise they would have done it themselves.

But guys don't tell anyone at FPV will ya.

On a even more silly note. Ya reckon the "BOSSEDIT" will also be able to reset the odometer?
