If I can get 200+rwkw with no electronic tuning then JCV8 should easily be able to get 160kw with the same.
The stock "explorer" intake and 40p's will allow you to acheive 160kw easily. Porting, Big valves, roller rockers and a cam will get you in the 200rwkw range.

Pete.

My last dyno hasn't been for a year, but I'll be getting one in a week when all my new intake gear goes on!

Anyway, the one last year was our club dyno day, and you can see the results HERE. Handy to compare the results as a whole, makes a lot more sense to me to do this rather than to compare one-off runs from different dynos on different days.

Mine is in V8 Mod Class - Michael H

Here's my results... (ignore the date on it, I think they had Y2k issues or something!)

At that time, engine mods were dual 2.5" exhaust, Genie stainless headers, Lukey mufflers, 65mm TB, cold air ducting from front bumper, and mandatory K&N.

Now powered by PCOTY WINNING SR20DET - 32% engine weight, 37% capacity, 50% cylinder count
Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!

Mr Sparkle, what model car? I take it it's an EB-EF/EL if the 65mm TB is a mod?

It's an EL series 2. Heritage green paint as Mr Sparkle will also no doubt proudly state.

Correct gentlemen! The 65mm was a mod funnily enough! Have got some good bits going in next week, keen to see how they perform :s6:

Dynoed today.
My EF XR8 5spd - 115kw
My brothers EB Falcon 5.0L auto - 110kw
Friends EB 4.0L 5spd - 99kw
Friends Nissan Skyline 2.5L turbo 5spd - 128kw

My XH 4.0L 5spd was also done on the same dyno the other day with 122kw.

All vehicles above are stock except the ute which has a 2.5" cat back exhaust.

Rick.

Geez, that makes it look like the differences in the EB & XH motors (minimal, I think) plus your 2.5" exhaust is worth around 23 kw?

Dunno, but my XH has 120k's, the EB has 200k's. The XH also has electric fans, the EB has clutch fan. The snorkel is also bigger on the XH.

I still wouldn't think there would be that much in it though, my gut feeling is the later motors have different cams. I can't be certain of this though.

Rick.
