Re: Underdrive Pullies

Ok Barry just sent me an email. The Price of the crank puley is $165.00 The new belt to suit cost $80.00 Shipping to eastern states would be about $12.00

He says the reduction in crank pulley diameter is in the vacinity of 25%

So for about $250 I'm certainly leaning towards going ahead with it

Re: Underdrive Pullies

Yeah I got the same email Ignition. 12-15rwhp increase from this mod sounds pretty good to me! Plus, I plan to get the EL thermo fan conversion kit too after so hopefully in total I should see a total of around 20-25rwhp => 15+rwkw's for a total of $500-600 is a decent addition imho.

Re: Underdrive Pullies

Yeah I was just thinking. Assuming a linear load line (which will probably not be the case due to the fluid dynamics of the water and ps pumps amongst other things) if a 25% reduction in pulley diameter provides say 10rwkw then a 100% reduction (remove accessories all together) would provide 40rwkw?? HUH? Then add drive train losses to arive at say about 42 - 44 fwkw that the accessories are robbing the engine of. That sounds excessive to me!!! Nevertheless I might give it a go but wouldn't expect more than a few rwkw, ie not really noticeable!

Re: Underdrive Pullies

From what EDXR8 said, it was definitely noticable at mid-top end rev range. I would nt think that these kits would be made for such a small ammount of power gain.

Check out Barrys site http://www.norcom.net.au/~bpt

He has done his homework and has more stuff than just Pullies. ie. Stroker kits, TFI modules, coils, Tweecer tuners, short throw shifters etc. This guy knows his stuff!

Re: Underdrive Pullies

Well I was just trying to work through some figures and not knowing what load all the acces. require I can't say anything for sure it's just that I thought that sounded a lot being based on a 25% diameter reduction and a quoted power increase at the wheels

I'm probably going to still give it a go What about you blueoval, are you going to give it a try?

Re: Underdrive Pullies

A1 Performance do a reduction pulley kit. It retails for $250 which includes the $100 belt, they also spent a fair bit of time&money developing the kit..
I have noticed that Titan Ford on Leach Hwy sell pulley kits also, as well as cams, SS induction kits etc.

ooooh svo I was pretty much sold on the Battens product (after Christmas when everything settles down a bit financially) but now for the same price this A1 Performance group step in the ring. I googled quickly but found no info on them. Do you or does anyone else have experience with the A1 pulley kit? Can one be recommended over the other? How about the Titan?

Where are these guys based?
