Re: Where's the power in the windsor?

Forget the chips......as we all know the biggest problem with the E series V8s
especially are the E7 heads, you would be lucky to pull 150rwkw,
and this wouldnt be much better then a 14.8 down the quarter.

The chips will not bring the performance where all after....at the most it will
give our cars better throttle response, be a lot smoother but wont add up to
much at the drags and lets face it, the chips arnt going to do what
LS1edit has done for the commodore boyz. We just dont have a good
starting base to work with.

What we should be asking is how EL1XR8 managed a pass of 13.95 and
Ignitions with a 14.83, obviously they have extra mods then the rest of us
but it doesnt add up, otherwise will all be running similar times. You guys care
to shed some more light on the topic!

A shift kit wont do anything to the bottom end mate it mearly quickens up gear changes.

A bigger stall convertor is being thought about as is the possibility of the new SCT Advantage EccV edit, to remove the torque reduction

The proposed figure of 254kw's is at the fly.

The motor is basically a 302 with gt-40 heads, but has been built to 254kw spec.

I've heard that a unichip only really helps with AFR.. That's how it gains the extra power.. My AFR at the moment is perfect ( http://www.yagz.com/images/dynograph.jpg ) and was told a unichip wouldn't do much to help my cars performance..

I'm very interested in the pass that EL1XR8 achieved too! I'll give you an exhaustive list of what I'd done to scrape a 14.8 in an attempt to help out. Since these mods I’ve done MAF, TB, Manifold and injectors but only pulled low 14.8's so I'll leave that out for now because there's something limiting the potential of those mods and hence it's not a good indication.

I'm betting the ECU is raping it through torque reduction.
What does this mean?

I believe he means that the computer is restricting the torque output.
