I bought a 390 in pieces without intake, exhaust manifolds, and carb. I wanna know if its really a 390.

Here's some numbers etc. thats stamped on the block.

352 stamped over number 48

C6ME-A, 7E27

Head number 7E26

Re: Is this a 390FE engine?

The crank flange looks correct (7 holes and 1 square notch) for 390 or 428 crank. See if there's any numbers stamped into one of the crank counterweight edges.

Look for a 2U (66-73 390) or 3U or 2UA (both 73-76 390).

428 crank would be a 1U- (66-68) or 1UB (69-70).

7E27 and 26 are the date codes of 67/May/27th and 26th. Block and heads are original.

My guess it's a 390.

360 and 390 shared the same 4.05" bore size.
360 had a 3.50 crank stroke and 390 a 3.78".
4.05 bore plus the 428's 3.98 stroke gave you a 410 displacement.
The 410 was a Mercury only engine in 66-67.

It has 2U stamped on the 3rd counterweight/journal and #3 on the first counterweight/journal near the timing side.
