Re: 428 crankshaft into a 390
The 410 is a 390 with a 428 crank. You shoud have no problem using that crank. If the crank came out of a 410 then the piston sizes are the same, 4.05 . If you use the flywheel and damper that the 428 crank originally used, you don't have to balance it. If you use a different flywheel and damper then you will have to balance the crank to the new hardware.
You can use the 390/410 pistons on the 428 crank, just check your piston to deck height clearances. i wouln't cut the pistons down to fit....you should have no problem with clearance. I don't know what size cam your using but if it's bigger than stock ie: .600 lift or more clay the pistons to make sure the valves don't hit the pistons.
