Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) Battery

These are expensive!

Replaced the battery in moms car and hers has a AGM battery. Walmart - H6 AGM $149.98 with a 5 year free replacement. The 5 year is nice. Sam's club wants $154 with a 3 year free replacement.

An H6 lead acid battery is $119.98 but auto manufacturer says no - no, that car has a smart charging system and installing a lead acid battery will destroy it plus void the warranty.

Re: Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) Battery

A normal lead acid battery won't charge correctly, could get too hot (due to the smart charge system) and will fail prematurely..

Never, never, never give up.

Re: Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) Battery

I hope the new battery last longer than the old one. Bought the car new in Dec 15. The dealer wants 250 bucks plus installation. hahaha nope!

Forgot to mention that all Walmart AGM batteries now have a bar code serial number and the purchase date can be looked up. on that!
