experiences with performance chips - diesel

Hi - wondering if there are any good-or bad stories about installing performance chips (including those sourced overseas) in territory diesels. do the overseas chips cut it in aussie conditions?

Chips USUALLY work well on diesels provided engine in decent condition .You get some people that chip an old clapped out engine and blow the a**e out it . Couldn't tell you about " in aussie conditions "

Thanks RS Logan
vehicle in question only has 100k km - and "aussie conditions"- hot, dry. I note that chip sales pitch make a lot about local climate variability- so presumably english chips are set up to operate in milder, more humid conditions- not sure how that would affect the engine here in the heat- and whether the performance gains would be as significant

Re: experiences with performance chips - diesel

I would contact whoever you were thinking of buying the chip from and ask about your concerns . Over here in UK Bluefin superchips have a decent reputation for increased performance etc . but how they would operate in extreme Oz conditions I couldn't say .Whether there would be a significant drop off in that environment with the diesel as opposed to the petrol might be worth looking into , still think you would get a fair gain .I worked in a specialist tuning garage for a while but it was over 20 yrs ago and have lost touch with Superchips and the likes all together nowadays .
