03 ford explorer dvd unit

my suv specs

Make: Ford
Model: Explorer
Variant: XLS Sport 4.0L 4WD
Bodytype: Sport Utility

Doors: 4
Engine ccm: 4000
Engine type: V6 SOHC 12V FFV


my question
my explorer has a built in dvd player in the back the dvd player model #audiovox dt102
and but the dvd player wont come there is a red power light that comes on the housing but nothing on the dvd player so that makes me think that there is power going to the unit plz help thanks

My guess is that you're correct. Often there are more than one power source and you may have lost that alternate, but it is a 16 year old DVD player. Even if it hasn't bee used a lot, just the temperature extremes inside the vehicle can toll a lot of wear on the player.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

well i have tested the dvd player via power cord that came with it and the dvd player works so the issue is with the explorers power source to the unit
