Probably its the old ford 260 which is 4.3, although they did make one smaller which was the 221 windsor (3.6) and rated at about 145 hp..

I just came across this link for the Windsors history , Im pretty sure the 1962 Ford Fairlane Compact had the 260 windsor which the engine was short-lived anyway as the 289 took over

cool Re: Which Ford V6 do you own?

I own a 2001 Taururs with a 3.0 Duratec. By the way, 4.2L V6 is basically an upsized 3.8L V6-they are both in the Essex engine family. The new 3.9L V6 is an Essex engine too.

Thumbs up Re: Which Ford V6 do you own?

I Have A 2002 Escape W/ The 3.0l 24 Valve Engine. Actually It's The Wifes Car. I Was Suprised At The Performance Of The Little V6. I Used To Have A '91 Aerostar Van W/ 4.0l V6. I Had To Get Rid Of It Because A Lifter Went Out, & I Didn't Want To Spend The Bucks On The Engine Removal & They Said The Lifters Were Special & Cost $43 Bucks A Piece. The Van Performed Well & Pulled A Trailer W/ 2 Atv's Most Of The Time.
